Adding a Custom Image to a Referral Reward

This is a simple way to make your referral rewards more visually branded and engaging.

📋 Before You Start

The reward must already exist. If you have not set up a reward yet, see: Configuring a Widget Referral Reward.

How to Add a Custom Image

  1. Open Mage Loyalty > Referrals > Widget Referrals.

  2. Click Edit next to the reward you want to update.

  3. In the Custom Image panel on the right, click Add image.

  4. Select your image file.

  5. Click Update Reward to save.

Image Guidance

  • Format: JPG or PNG

  • Shape: square or landscape — reward cards in the widget are typically displayed horizontally

  • File size: under 1MB for fast loading

  • Resolution: at least 600px wide to avoid looking blurry

✅ Tip

Use a product image, lifestyle shot, or branded graphic that reflects what the reward is for. A clear, appealing image can increase reward redemption rates by making the offer feel more tangible.

Removing the Image

To remove a custom image from a reward:

  1. Click Edit next to the reward.

  2. In the Custom Image panel, click Remove below the image thumbnail.

  3. Click Update Reward.

ℹ️ Note

Removing the image returns the reward card to its default appearance with no image.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Uploading a very large image file. Files over 1MB can cause the reward card to load slowly in the widget. Compress images before uploading.

⚠️ Common Mistake

Using a portrait image. Tall images may appear cropped in the reward card layout. Square or landscape images display better.
